Week 6 is here people and I’ll try to keep my banter quick because we’ve been cutting it close to kickoff recently and we certainly don’t want to run out of time before we can get our picks off. I mean could you imagine how embarrassing that would be? Now maybe our Week 5 picks didn’t invoke conversations about the worst coaching decisions of all time but we did double down on the Browns which is quite the blunder on its own as it handed the Dawg two bad losses. Thankfully not all was lost or tied last weekend as the Over and the Lock both hit for us with relative ease. Dan Quinn’s historic levels of incompetence guaranteed the Over would hit and the Packers chucked moon balls all over the Bears on their way to blowing them out. That means after a 2-2 week we’re a mediocre 10-11-1 here at Bick’s Picks so far this season. But that also means we’re only a quarter of the way through the season which means there’s still so much football left, so let’s get into it.

Life’s Too Short to Bet the Under

Chargers @ Chiefs (41.5)

Once again a 41.5 total is calling my name. Maybe I’m misguided but man numbers like these immediately get my interest. Just talking myself into there being 6 touchdowns in this game and not being able to shake that feeling. Now my fixation on numbers aside I do like this game to have some scoring. The Chiefs are coming off a bye which is when Andy Reid teams thrive. Now the Chargers being a complete mess might give some pause but it’s a divisional game and I think they Herbert give us enough in garbage time to get us to our total. And if not at the very least we can keep track of which popstar biddy gets more screen time Taylor Swift or Madison Beer.

Over 41.5 (-112)

Fade Dawgs

Bills @ Raiders (+5.5)

I won’t lie, picking a Dawg this week was a little tricky. The big road Dawgs didn’t have spreads quite big enough and the close home Dawgs were too close. Instead because of some fear and loathing I found myself in Vegas. You’d think I’d be betting against Kirk especially after last week but instead this seems like a good bounce back spot. They’ve been a nice surprise this year and I think being back at home will result in a better showing. Meanwhile a soft Bills defense and some Josh Allen foolishness, I think Buffalo gives the Raiders enough chances to keep it close. So here’s hoping I’ll be saying You Like That one more time.

Raiders +5.5 (-112)

Bick’s Stone Cold Locks of the Century of the Week

Ravens(ML) @ Browns & Panthers(ML) @ Eagles

Yup that’s right we’re doing a little parlay for the Lock. Honestly I had to as I was torn between both these teams and couldn’t just pick one. Couple that with the fact both favored teams have awkward -3 lines so let’s avoid that nonsense and just pick them both to win. Sure the Ravens are turning to Snoop Huntley again with Lamar out but as we learned last week the Browns are still the Browns. Then there’s the Eagles. As a fellow member of the NFC Least dumpster fire I’ll avoid throwing too many stones from my glass house but let’s just say things could be going better for Philly. Meanwhile the Panthers are coming off a bye and seemed poised to take advantage. No doubt both these road favorites come with some risk but at the end of the early slate I think we’ll have a couple wins for the Lock.

Ravens ML & Panthers ML (+156)

GUEST PICKS

Brady’s 2 TD Play of the Day

The Play: Kyren Williams 2+ TDs

We finally got a win on the board last week as the Lions carved up the Cardinals defense and Gibbs found the end zone twice! We can’t rely on Gibbs again this week as he’s on a bye this week but we can still hope for a poor showing by the Cardinals defense as they go on the road to face another tough offense in LA. For this one bet Kyren Williams to find the end zone twice.
