Week 3 is here people and boy we squandered that good start real quick didn’t we? After a couple nice weeks we went back to last year’s losing ways with a painful 1-3 performance. And in typical Bick’s Picks fashion not only were the picks bad, they were comically bad. We started things off with the Over, where I had basically scoffed at the idea that the Bears and Vikings couldn’t combine for 7 touchdowns. So of course not only was that matchup the lowest scoring of the week it also the ONLY game that didn’t have a touchdown. Then there’s the Dawg and the less I talk about that game the better. Let’s just say any good feelings I had about Washington’s season were beaten out of me by the Fox broadcast replaying Jayden’s injury again and again. Now it wasn’t just losses last week because the Panthers showed up and covered for the Lock with ease. Hey who knows now that my judgment is not clouded by foolish thoughts of hope and optimism we might be able to get back on track. But there’s only one way to find out, so let’s get into it.

Life’s Too Short to Bet the Under

Vikings @ Buccaneers (42.5)

It’s been a rollercoaster season already for the Over with one of the best backdoor covers you’ll see Week 1 to not even getting a touchdown in Week 2. Then I take a look at today’s slate and maybe it’s the weather but my goodness to the totals scream Under to me. However there was one game that jumped out as a decent bet to see some scoring and that’s this matchup in Tampa. Now I made sure to triple check there’s no monsoon happening there either as I don’t need a repeat of last week. But nope we got clear skies, no lightning and a couple Heisman winning Sooners that should be able to put up points. So give me a Kyler vs Baker shoot out please and thank you.

I’m guessing you thought I’d just keep spamming Washington in this spot all year but I can’t keep doing that to you or myself for that matter. Instead I’m taking a chance backing a different bad team against a backup QB. I think for the most part we can agree that Jameis is an entertaining personality but as quarterback he’s an ugly pick six waiting to happen. Not to mention the weather is bad and I can see him doing all sorts of foolish things with the ball today. Now on the flip side you won’t hear me showering Cam Ward with praise but the Brian Daboll return makes me think Tennessee will be a little more motivated than the team that just lost their franchise QB. Certainly not the sexiest choice but hey if I’m not gonna back my guys might as well bet against a NFC East team right?

Bick’s Stone Cold Lock of the Century of the Week

Bengals (-3.5) @ Steelers

Much like last week’s Lock I once again love this pick and honestly for a lot of the same reasons. Now this isn’t a bounce back spot for the Bengals like it was for the Panthers but nevertheless I think they keep rolling because of the quarterback they face. As bad as Cooper Rush was for the Falcons there’s a real chance that Aaron Rodgers has been even worse. Coupled with the fact that Cinci seems to have a real defense it’s really hard for me to see the Steelers keeping this close. Now like last week this is a divisional game so I won’t get too nuts but I think Joe Cool and company cover for us with ease.

Brady’s Parlay of the Day

The Parlay: IND/HOU Over 42.5, Panthers ML, Buccaneers ML

Week 1 we went 1/3 and week 2 we went 2/3 as the Eagles played around with the Titans and let them cover. That must mean this is the week we go 3/3 and hit on BPOTD right? 

Leg 1- Houston vs Indy two winless teams looking for that first victory, I’m not predicting who gets it but I do think both teams put up points in this one. Take the Over at 42.5

Leg 2- In a game that no one probably cares about, the Panthers travel to Cleveland to take on the Browns. The Browns come off an upset over the Bucs and the Panthers blew out the Falcons last week. I like the Panthers to be the team that stays hot in this one. Take them with the moneyline

Leg 3- The Buccaneers have started the year 0-2 and are desperate for a win. The Vikings on the other hand haven’t lost yet. I don’t believe that Minnesota is actually good and Tampa should handle the Vikings at home. Take the Bucs and the moneyline.
