We’re back baby! Words can’t describe how good it felt waking up this morning knowing it was the 1st NFL Sunday. That first cup of coffee out of the Gameday mug tasted so damn good. Now before I dive into things there might be the few of you that might be new here so I’ll give you a quick run down of our format. As always we start off with some banter, followed by an accountability recap of our most recent picks and then you get this week’s action. As for the picks themselves for now Bick’s Picks is an Over, a Dawg and then my Lock of the week. As you’ll notice we also have guest picks returning as Brady’s Parlay of the Day is also back. Since it was asked about a couple times last season I have no input on BPotD that write up is all courtesy of Matthew Brady. We typically don’t coordinate so excuse us if our picks don’t jive but I figure this is better than me giving you a losing TD parlay every week. But enough about the format we got a quick recap to cover and thankfully it was actually a successful opener for us. Now we weren’t perfect but I’ll certainly take 2-0-1 over how things went last season. The first game was sketchy because of how it started but eventually JSN got us our first win of 2026 by finding paydirt before Drake Maye gifted us a push by ending Wednesday Night Football with another interception. The next night our +3.5 Niners won outright giving us an easy win down under. As I said in the last blog we like to start each season with a renewed sense of delusional optimism and after a successful Kickoff this write up is gonna be full of it, so without further delay let’s get into it.
Life’s Too Short to Bet the Under
Saints @ Lions (49.5)
Now this high total might scare a few of you off but to me this one has track meet written all over it. Both these teams are built to play inside and neither have defenses that are really all that formidable. Most of you would likely assume I’m in on this Over because of the Lions and while that’s partly true I’m actually bullish on the Saints this season. I think Shough might be a guy and they’ve also got an easy schedule that could result in them making several appearances on Bick’s Picks. So I’m thinking we see both teams do their part to get us to 50 as we cruise to an easy win in the 1p slate.
Over 49.5 (-112)
Fade Dawgs
Commanders (+6)(ML) @ Eagles
If you didn’t see this one coming then you really are new here. I can’t talk about delusional optimism and not pick my guys to win Week 1. Obviously this pick does come with a healthy amount of bias but also a fair bit of spite. EVERYONE is counting out Washington this year. I’m used to last in the division projections and talk like that but when I see NFL.com having us ranked at 31 you’ve officially rustled my jimmies. I truly think we can surprise some people and remind them that Jayden Daniels carried a team to the NFC Championship. And frankly no better place to do that than where that playoff run ended. I get that taking the ML might be a bridge too far so I included the spread for those of you not quite ready to believe. The Washington redemption tour starts today giddy up.
Commanders +6 (-108)
Commanders ML (+215)
Brady’s Parlay of the Day
The Parlay: Kayshon Boutte ATD, Lions -7, Steelers -6.5
Let’s kick off 2026 with some money! Brady’s parlay of the day is back!
Leg 1- Bills vs Texans, I’m expecting a good amount of points in this one and the guy the patriots stupidly traded away to make room for a useless Doubs is going to score. Take Kayshon Boutte with an anytime TD
Leg 2- Lions vs Saints, The Saints are going to suck and the Lions should take care of them easily, take Detroit minus 7
Leg 3- Steelers vs Falcons, Tua gets the starting job and then does what Tua does best and gets hurt. Cooper Rush is starting…. Take the Steelers -6.5
Brady’s Parlay of the Day: Kayshon Boutte ATD, Lions -7, Steelers -6.5 (+1670)
Bick’s Stone Cold Locks of the Century of the Week
The Parlay: Chargers(ML), Jaguars(ML), Ravens(ML)
Yup that’s right the Lock is a parlay deal with it. Spreads be damned, we’re playing it safe and just picking these teams to win. Jags and Chargers are heavy favorites with spreads you don’t often see Week 1 so they were an easy choice. The Ravens at Indy is projected to be a closer matchup but I think Baltimore rolls. New regime and think they’ll be eager to get the taste of last year’s failures out of their mouth. They’re not the sexiest picks but after calling a Washington upset I think it’s okay to play it a little safe with the Lock.
Parlay: Chargers ML, Jaguars ML, Ravens ML (+145)
